Scotland - Kilmartin to Isle of Skye

There are over eight hundred ancient monuments in this region. Somebody spent a lot of time, trouble and manpower placing these stones here. As with Stonehenge there are lots of theories as to why they are placed as they are. Some say it is related to solar alignments or indicative of where the moon rises and sets at certain times of the year. They also say it is lucky to camp near to them so that is good news for us!
